Baila Baila

We were fortunate to connect with Isabel Brazon about Baila Baila, here we share it with you!

COULD YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR STORY, WHERE DO YOU COME FROM AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WORK ON WHAT YOU DO NOW?

I am a music lover who is passionate about child development. I am from Venezuela where for many years I worked in the child entertainment business while studying communications. When I move to the US I created this program while teaching mommy and me classes in Spanish. The creativity would flow, melodies and lyrics would emerge when sitting in the ground with toddlers as we were learning different subjects. My music is created in the classroom, my students and my own children now are my inspiration. Baila Baila was created with the idea to support families who are raising their children in two languages. A new alternative that is appealing for parents, but fun for children as well as educational. Baila Baila offers music and movement classes for babies and toddlers with their caregivers in a total immersion experience. We have three music albums and music videos to support our program and we perform at festivals, schools, children events and libraries. Our message is to remind the importance and benefits of being bilingual and reinforce the love for our Latin roots.

HOW DO YOU THINK ABOUT CREATIVITY, WHAT ROLE HAS CREATIVITY PLAYED IN YOUR LIFE / CAREER?

Creativity is the motor of my life. I am not a planner, I am a doer. Ideas come to my mind quickly when I am in action doing what I love and what I feel comfortable doing. I set myself for success in the spot with necessary tools to create. Every class of mine starts acknowledging our hands, with our hand we can mold, create, feel, count, move... once we give form to that energy we create at the beginning, teachers and students make the magic happens. It’s a connection, it’s energy, it’s all... creativity it’s what makes Baila Baila the best 45mins of a child’s day. Creativity, in general, is what makes each one of us unique and fascinating.

WHAT WAS YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS BEHIND STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?

Love for my culture, giant desire to support bilingual families, the need of more Spanish resources to be used in classrooms, the lack of music programs in Spanish for infants and preschool age children.

The more I work in this industry, the more I learn about the needs and concerns of parents, educators and students for Spanish resources to teach/learn. Creating music to support bilingual programs was incredibly motivating and constantly bringing in new material to keep it fun and entertaining is definitely one of my goals.

PLEASE TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WORK. WE’D LOVE TO HEAR WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHERS, WHAT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF OR EXCITED ABOUT. HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY PROFESSIONALLY. WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO REMEMBER ABOUT YOU?

Baila Baila is a dynamic program to learn Spanish through music and movement for children. We reinforce the love for the Latin culture with traditional and original songs playing music that parents can enjoy and children can learn with. We have a life performance that plays locally in LA at libraries, festivals, schools and birthday parties. At the moment we have three music productions: “Baila Baila”, “Amarillo” and “Azul” with music to support Spanish learning available online and hard copy. We also have fun videos of some of our songs available on YouTube in which we reinforce equality, movement and remind people that we can all bring out the kid in us.

Baila Baila’s dynamic program makes everyone move. Learning Spanish while you are using all your senses to explore the environment around you and listening to catchy tunes makes the learning much more fun. We create an energy that constantly moves for 45mins and leaves a great impression on a child’s mind while he/she is bonding with their caregivers. We focus on being role models, musicians and professionals. We want children and families to feel safe and come to a space where creativity flows and energy it’s all. We all are doing what we love and our work shows it. That’s what makes us stand out.

The support of our clients, our family and friends and an amazing worldwide following has put us where we are in the present. It’s overwhelming how many people knows of Baila Baila and to learn each day where our music is played it’s so exciting. It would had not been possible without strong social media presence, perseverance, clean image, professionalism and always striving for quality. We put all our heart into every little project we present, it truly shows and it’s greatly appreciated by our audience.

Parents have expressed to me how they rely on my music to make their children’s day go smoothly. I want to be that break for the parents, that smile on children’s face, that joyful, bonding moment when parents and children dance together... those Spanish words learned with one of my songs.
